The Simquestrian United Draft Horse Association (SUDHA) is a registry for horses that were originally bred to pull heavy loads and till the lands. In modern times, most see them as little more than a representation of our rural pasts that have been replaced by machinery and tractors. But the draft breeds are making their comeback and proving that they aren't just your run-of-the-mill plow horse by becoming popular choices in both the dressage ring and sporting events. Be sure to make a place in your heart for these gentle giants because they make great companions and partners for people of all ages.
Draft Ponies:
The registry also accepts Draft Ponies, which are smaller scale versions of their larger counterparts. Our goal is to promote ponies that resembles one of our accepted breeds, only on a smaller scale. Draft ponies should not exceed 58" in height. Color of draft ponies will not be discriminated against. Draft ponies will also need to be dually registered with the SU Pony and Miniature Horse Association.
Registration:
I will be uploading a height chart to be used during the registration of your horse but for now you can head over to the the PMHA where Bagel has a height chart link already up.
We prefer that most breeding stock be within the height permitters of their breed if they have any. However, geldings may exceed breed standards depending on the individual and we might have a competition to see how has the tallest Simquestrian United horse in the future.
All horses will need an official height in order to compete in Draft Horse Association events.
