Competitions are a fun way to show off your work! But they can also be intimidating. Simquestrian United wants everyone to feel comfortable showing off their creations regardless of how much photoshop experience they have, that's why S.U. has the following rules.
- Photos should only be lightly edited. Mane, tail and feather painting, brightness, contrast, saturation (or lack thereof), sharpening details in the coat, background blurring and tack fixes are the only things permitted to be photoshopped in the Simquestrian United Recognized Shows (the same rules apply for breed associations!)
- Conformation should NEVER be photoshopped - even if the pose is wonky. Find a new pose.
- Photos that are photoshopped will never take priority over those that are not. Photos are judged on composition, how believable the shot is and how true the photo, tack, attire, etc. are to the specific class entered. Halter classes will be judged on the individual horses conformation as to their specific breed standard.
- Open shows are just that. Open. Every host will have different rules so make sure you pay attention when entering. Instead of points, hosts of open shows may offer prizes or money to winners.
- At the end of every game year (the 30th of every other month, the years revolve on 9/30, 11/30, 1/30, 3/30, 5/30, 7/30) S.U. will host a championship show. In order to qualify for championships, horses must have earned a minimum of 20 points in S.U. recognized competition in that game year.
- On the other hand, S.U. will offer futurities for breeders to showcase their youngstock. Futurities, like championships, will offer not only lucrative titles, but a money prize as well as lifetime points.
Horses can show and earn titles once their points accumulate.
